Description
Just thought I would upload My Picture coloring process
Steps run right to left....(don't know why i did it backwards I blame my left handedness)
Ignore steps under character they no longer apply
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Guide
step1:I sketch it on paper and scan it in then put it in corel paintshop
step2:usualy it is to light right of so i darken it using the multiply tool
Step3:then i use the "magic wand"tool click outside the character this auto finds all the lines that make up the characters edge and selects all that is not part of the character I press the Delete key to erase the back drop leaving me with only the character left
step4: I then duplicate the layer so there are 2 identical layers i then use the "chrome" tool on the lower duplicate set to color 90 90 90 with no flaws this creates a dark gray silhouette
step5:i then turn the upper layer to multiply which renders all the paper invisible leaving only the lines visible
step6:I then create a layer in between the line art and the gray silhouette and color all the places i want light hitting white
step7: I then merge the silhouette and the white layer creating a lighting map layer then set to multiply
step8: I then create a layer under the light map layer and then just color in each peice of clothes with the color i want (the lighting maps gray makes all the colors underneith it 90 shades darker and all the colors under the white true color) and it is done
Enjoy!
